Woman Gunned Down By Ex In Courthouse Ambush After Warning Cops, Allegedly
Woman Gunned Down By Ex In Courthouse Ambush After Warning Cops, Allegedly
- 9 minutes
Fortunately, it is also a scenario that is
repeated again and again in America.
Woman shot dead
in a courthouse ambush by her ex.
She was almost free.
Crystal Evan had been enduring
a brutal divorce battle for two years.
[00:00:17]
She was trying to move on
from a violent marriage.
Two days after the divorce was finalized,
her ex-husband shot and killed her
in front of the courthouse.
Now her daughter is searching for answers.
Beautiful woman.
So much life left to live.
[00:00:37]
Two days after the divorce was finalized,
she was granted
a permanent protective order.
Her husband, Tom Mallory, opened fire
on her in broad daylight as she sat
in her vehicle in front of the Spaulding
County Courthouse after a hearing.
Evans died from her injuries.
[00:00:53]
Now her loved ones are demanding answers,
accusing the sheriff and police
of dropping the ball.
Our friends at Atlanta Black Star bringing
us this horror on the day of the hearing,
precocious said a family friend
asked a court clerk to arrange an escort
[00:01:09]
for Evans as she left the courtroom,
but somehow the message was never relayed.
Not that important, I guess.
Had to look at TikTok, maybe,
she believes if the police had not ignored
the seriousness of the situation,
her mom would be still alive.
[00:01:27]
With millions watching and many people
benefiting from this program called
indisputable, we just need 1% of
the viewers to become a paid member so we
can continue to bring this content to you.
Now back to the show.
My mom literally called the sheriff
the sheriffs department the day before
[00:01:44]
because he was stalking her.
Precious said they did nothing.
Had they had someone to walk
out with her like her friend asked,
she would still be here.
Won't surprise you.
The sheriff's office is denying this.
[00:02:02]
Spalding County Sheriff Darnell Dix
disputed this claim
and defended his deputies in a Facebook
post September 14th for a fact.
The person that started the rumor that
Mrs. Mallory Evans asked for an escort
has admitted that it was a lie, he wrote.
[00:02:19]
Okay, so she's dead.
Apparently needed an escort.
Why would someone lie?
That's just my question.
By all accounts,
the couple had a tumultuous marriage.
[00:02:36]
Dix said deputies had responded
to many domestic violence calls
at their home, but often had difficulty
determining who was the aggressor.
Oh, really? Okay.
So you've been to their home
tumultuous marriage with
let's go with violent, not tumultuous.
[00:02:53]
And yet you didn't.
You knew all that and nobody thought that.
Perhaps we need to separate these parties
and make sure the ex-wife
gets away from there safely.
There were times when she claimed
he hit her or pulled a gun on her.
[00:03:10]
There were times when he said she
got angry and hit him and shot at him.
This was, by all definitions,
a toxic relationship, he wrote,
adding that on one occasion
Mallory was arrested, but he posted bond.
Oh, I get it on both sides.
Isn't that what we're doing here?
[00:03:26]
I thought you were supposed
to investigate.
But both sides,
they're just so volatile, we can't decide.
So we show up and say,
hey, you separate yourself.
You're out of here.
Throughout the harrowing
divorce proceedings,
44 year old victim turned to Facebook to
post about her husband's erratic behavior
[00:03:41]
and, as she put it, leave a paper trail.
It's funny how she could see
what was about to happen,
but the sheriff and his deputies couldn't.
She left a public manifesto,
if you will, because she knew him better
[00:03:59]
than anybody else, perhaps.
Good people on both sides.
Just having a little, you know, spat.
August 3rd, 2024, she wrote.
It said that I have to walk around
terrified for my life and my children's.
[00:04:17]
I know if something happens to me,
please know who did it.
This man has said numerous times
he was going to kill me.
I am posting
and trying to leave a paper trail.
This man is extremely dangerous.
A few weeks later, she posted a still
from a ring camera with the caption
[00:04:32]
Tom Mallory, stay away from us,
you are a sick man.
Leave us alone. This is sad.
Please begging.
Leave us alone. More evidence.
Nothing to see here though,
Sheriff's deputies.
It's a lie.
Nobody asked for an escort.
Why would you even have to ask?
[00:04:50]
Duh.
One day before her death, she wrote.
Dude, please leave me alone.
It's over. Move on with your life, please.
Respectfully,
this has me riled up, Jackson.
A lot of women have been through this.
[00:05:07]
Not to this degree, thank goodness.
Me too.
Do you know what it's like
to have somebody stalking you?
And then somebody stalking you,
but wanting you to know
that they have you in their sights.
Been through that.
[00:05:23]
And to have court officials
think volatile relationship.
It's nothing to just dismiss it.
When violent behavior happens,
well, it's not that bad.
[00:05:38]
And don't even get me started
with the psychological infringement.
It's debilitating.
She said she was walking around in fear.
He said he was going to kill her.
And yet, highly trained sheriff's deputies
don't know who is the dangerous one.
[00:05:57]
And when do you usually kill
if you're this kind of diabolical,
malignant, narcissistic idiot?
When they finally break free of you.
I'm disgusted by this. She should be here.
Jackson.
Yet another one who should be here.
[00:06:15]
Absolutely. She should be here.
And this really highlights just how women,
and particularly black women, aren't
taken seriously in these situations,
even if there's undeniable evidence and
proof that a woman is going through abuse
and is in a situation that she really
just can't safely and easily break free.
[00:06:33]
There's some type of all,
well, she should have chose better.
You know, we don't really need to to put
our resources in this area because this is
a matter of personal responsibility,
which is a lot of why the sheriff deputies
wanted to put out that.
Oh, well, she shot at him before
this was a thing where they were both
[00:06:49]
really tumultuous with each other,
so there was no way to tell.
But at the end of the day,
they just really didn't value
or have any real concern for her safety.
And unfortunately, people find themselves
in these types of situations,
especially, as you pointed out,
[00:07:04]
when you're dealing with somebody
who's has malignant narcissism and their
egos are so fragile, they just can't take
any kind of slight, you know, they
can't take any type of slight whatsoever.
They can never get over that wound
that could be stalking you and causing you
issues for years on end, and you never
really know when that's going to go away.
[00:07:22]
Perhaps when they find a new victim
or when they get locked up
or anything along those lines.
But for women who do make it
out of situations like this,
and a lot of the time as you grow up,
good thing is that you got to realize
relationships really aren't that serious.
[00:07:39]
I mean, they can bring you,
you know, they can be very positive.
They can be.
They, you know, they can be very strong.
But in modern times,
people don't have to stay together.
And overall, that is a good thing.
So, you know, I encourage anybody who's
in a situation, even if it's not really,
[00:07:56]
really bad like this,
just always put yourself first enough
to realize life is more
than me being with this one person.
But unfortunately,
black women far too often just.
There's just no concern for their life.
[00:08:11]
He was doing that.
He was putting herself,
her family first, and he was trying.
Enough is enough.
And we don't know
if she ever pulled a gun.
That's what he said.
It seems like there was plenty of a paper
trail, including that ring camera image
that the police, if they really wanted
to investigate, keep her safe.
[00:08:29]
They could have.
I bet you a rookie
could have investigated this case
and seen who was really at fault here.
And so you're right. Jackson's right.
Put yourself first. Get out.
Oh, unless you live in certain places,
certain states, right,
[00:08:45]
that are telling you if you're pregnant,
you're not supposed to leave.
In fact, Missouri might be one of them.
You can't leave this marriage.
You're like an indentured servant.
A second class citizen.
A lot of women have issues,
but the court system.
And this.
[00:09:00]
What?
You seem like you can speak for yourself.
You seem like you're a tough gal.
You don't need anything.
We got you.
Oh, that's right, you got yourself.
It's a lot.
It's time to start taking
this stuff seriously.
But once again,
slow singing and flower bringing.
