Donald Trump. You never see him around. Strong, intelligent women ever. It's just that simple. Billionaire businessman and Kamala Harris surrogate Mark Cuban, is facing backlash for saying Trump has no strong or intelligent women around him. [00:00:15] His comments came in response to this question from The View co-host and former Trump aide Alyssa Farah Griffin. Turns out, Donald Trump is not even asking Nikki Haley for her help to try to reach her voters. What do you make of that? And do you think having people like Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger [00:00:31] and other Republicans with Kamala Harris is going to put her over the edge with these Nikki Haley supporters? Yeah. I mean, yes, it will put her over the edge with Nikki Haley supporters, Donald Trump, you never see him around. Strong, intelligent women ever. It's just that simple. They're intimidating to him. [00:00:48] He doesn't he doesn't like to to be challenged by them. And you know, Nikki Haley will call him on his nonsense with reproductive rights and how he sees and treats and talks about women. I mean, he just can't have her around. It wouldn't work. I think stormy is intelligent. I don't think that's 100%. [00:01:06] He's very smart. - Stormy. - He means it's like. He has powers on stage. It's power over her. Well, let me ask. What a strange, counterargument from Joy Behar there. She was going for the joke there, Ben. Did you think it worked? Was she going for the joke? I have to then say it didn't work because I was unaware. [00:01:23] Also, bold thing to say right to the face of a former Trump aide. He never surrounds himself against intelligent, strong women. Unsurprisingly, Cuban's comment set off a firestorm among right wing women who accused him of misogyny. Here's how Republican women, including including Anna Paulina Luna, Elise [00:01:39] Stefanik and Kellyanne have responded. Mark Cuban just went on The View this morning and said that there are no strong or intelligent women that support President Trump, which is by definition, misogyny, not just to mention their disgusting comments. Mark Cuban, Kamala Harris's top ally, says no strong and intelligent women [00:01:59] support Trump. It's a disgrace and Kamala Harris stays silent. I'm proud to be the highest ranking woman in the United States Congress. When I ran, I was the youngest woman ever elected. I'm the most senior woman on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Intelligence Committee, and I proudly am voting and endorse President Trump. [00:02:18] It just shows. How desperate and concerned they are that they are not certain that they're supporting a strong, intelligent woman for president. Yeah, none of those were what he said. He said surrounds them on stage. Not that they don't support him in any way. It's ridiculous. And it's also not, by definition, proof of misogyny because somebody could [00:02:36] be surrounded by not intelligent people. And that could be stated. So kind of calling into question your own intelligence with that statement, but a boneheaded thing to say. Marjorie Taylor Greene, of course, had the weirdest, although also kind of predictable, response. First, we have Joe Biden calling all of us garbage. [00:02:53] Now, Mark Cuban has come out and said that there's no strong, intelligent women supporting Trump. Wait. Hang on. I got to fit in this set. Here's the problem with Mark Cuban. He suffers from low testosterone. [00:03:12] The guy looks just like Rachel Maddow. And here's his issue. He's actually intimidated by strong, intelligent women like me. Graduated from UGA with a business degree. I run a very successful construction company in Georgia, and now [00:03:29] I'm going on my third term in Congress. I love guns, especially AR 15 seconds, and I support President Trump. Mark, I suggest you get some HRT and hit the gym. I don't know what I love. Guns had to do with anything there, but Cuban has not responded to those [00:03:48] accusations directly, but has apologized for not making his point more clearly. Writing on X when I said this during the interview, I didn't get it out exactly the way I thought I did, so I apologize to anyone who felt slighted or upset by my response. As I said, it wasn't about Trump voters, supporters or employees, current or former. And I set myself up for the six second sound bite. [00:04:04] No excuses. Can't nail every interview. He also added on social media a further retraction, saying this is what I said during a conversation about why Nikki Haley was not active in his campaign. I know many strong, intelligent women voting for Trump, including my extended family. I'm certainly not saying female voters are not smart, strong, and intelligent. [00:04:22] I know he's worked with strong, intelligent women like Elaine Chao, Kellyanne, Ivanka, and many others. I stand by my opinion he does not like being challenged publicly. Yeah, when he said it to a woman that used to work with Trump. Awkward. Ben's totally right about that. Not helpful. [00:04:40] And but I'm here. I'll go in the other direction. I wouldn't have said anything about women, but doesn't surround himself with intelligent, strong, intelligent people. I mean, he doesn't like anyone who's strong. He likes people who lick his boots. And if you don't lick his boots, he hates you. [00:04:55] And he fires you. So by definition, you have to be weak and servile to be around them. And Marjorie Taylor Greene. I mean, she was just in New Mexico with I mean, he ignored her coming off the plane. Right. I saw it on Mark Thompson's show, the Mark Thompson Show on YouTube. And and she's like, okay, he and Marjorie Taylor Greene, you are not [00:05:14] helping intelligent, strong women. And she misunderstands what strong is. She's like, look at all the push ups I can do. And you can be weak and servile to a smart person. That's one thing. But to do it to Donald Trump also proves you're not intelligent. Yeah, yeah, that's my last word. I would just say. [00:05:32] Clearly not helpful. Taken out of context. Perverted made a talking point so it was converted to supporters instead of surrounding people on stage. But as Jake said, I just can't. And Jake made me think of it. I can't get out of my mind that opening cabinet meeting. [00:05:47] Remember where everybody had to sort of pledge loyalty and talk about how lucky they were that God had put them on the cabinet of the president's president Trump's first term. It reminds you that he really just wants supplicants, and he seems to have [00:06:02] gotten it in this Republican Party. I'm sorry. I'm going to add one last thing, because Mark said it earlier, it looked like Cuban was doing that interview out of his private jet. That's not helpful at all. That's even less helpful.
